“Lokum”, the Turkish Delight, is a masterpiece of Hacı Bekir Effendi, introduced first to the Ottoman Palace and then to world cuisines along with hard candies and almond paste. Although dating back to the traditional Turkish Cuisine of the 15th century, the composition of lokum as we know today was attained by Hacı Bekir Effendi in the 19th century through his use of starch and refined sugar.
You can’t get enough of this historic taste tenderly prepared with the aromas of specially chosen lemons and the freshest roses. Hacı Bekir Rose / Lemon Lokum, prepared according to its historic formula, is available in standard Hacı Bekir packages or in special packages of your choice.
Lokum has first been introduced to the Ottoman cuisine and then to the world by Hacı Bekir Effendi, chief confectioner of the Ottoman palace. Hacı Bekir lokums are still prepared according to his special recipe, and manufactured and delicately packaged under specific conditions in production plants where tradition is combined with modern technologies
