Unlike filter coffee or espresso, it is prepared by slowly heating finely ground coffee with water (and sugar if desired) in a Turkish coffee pot. The result is a smooth, aromatic cup with a full-bodied flavour and the characteristic coffee grounds settling naturally at the bottom of the cup.

Easy to Prepare:

Preparing authentic Turkish coffee takes only a few minutes:

• Add cold water to the coffee pot.
• Use approximately 2 teaspoons (6g) of coffee per cup.
• Add sugar if desired and stir before heating.
• Brew slowly over low heat until the foam rises.
• Pour the foam into the cups, then briefly return the coffee to the heat before serving.
• Allow the grounds to settle before drinking.

Traditionally, Turkish coffee is served with a glass of water to cleanse the palate before enjoying its rich flavour.
